British farmers produce food to world leading standards. Awareness of food security has changed in recent years, there is a desire for fresh, British, assured produce that is from sustainable sources and to high animal welfare standards . Here are a few key facts:

  • It is predicted that by 2030 world demand for food will grow by 50% Red-Tractor-logo

  • The Red Tractor logo guarantees that you are buying quality food and drink that meets strict standards of food safety, environmental protection and animal welfare

  • The logo also includes a guarantee of origin - so the Union flag in the Red Tractor logo tells you that the product has been farmed, processed and packed in the UK

  • Currently the UK is 74% self sufficient in all indigenous type food and 60% self sufficient in all food 

  • In a recent Institute of Grocery Distribution (IGD) survey, 87% of consumers agrees that 'Supermarkets should focus more on selling food produced by British farmers'
