Oxo mum gives British beef a boost

19 Jan 2012

Lynda BellinghamThe NFU has been helping to put British Beef back on the menu as part of a high profile consumer campaign.

Working with Ladies in Beef, the Great British Beef recipe campaign website was launched last autumn to celebrate delicious and nutritious British beef.

Fronted by presenter, stage star and ‘OXO mum’, Lynda Bellingham the campaign features a variety of mouth-watering recipes alongside cook-along videos, top competitions and expert advice on choosing cuts.

Since its launch the site has generated a strong following on Facebook and nearly 1000 people entered the three week giveaway for a case of [Yellow Tail] wine.

Currently, anyone signing up to the mailing list is in with a chance of winning £500 worth of shopping vouchers courtesy of supermarket Asda.

The site also now features four cooking videos featuring the inspiring Ladies in Beef champions and Lynda Bellingham. Two films were created with supermarkets – one with Morrisons and another with Asda – and both retailers are promoting the videos through their own websites and social media channels

Ladies in Beef will be running its second Great British Beef week which will again coincide with St George’s Day and run from April 23-30.

To find out more about British beef, try tasty recipes and be in with a chance of getting your hands on £500 of shopping vouchers visit the Ladies in Beef website.
