Defra Secretary of State Caroline Spelman MP, Dr Vince Cable MP and food broadcaster Jay Rayner are just some of the high profile speakers who will address the annual NFU Conference next month.
Themed 'Meeting the Challenge', the two-day event is expected to attract nearly 1,000 farmer and grower delegates to a new venue – the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham.
Delegates will hear incisive expert opinions and a lively debate on the issues that matter most to the farming industry. From the political challenges posed both within the UK and the European Union to the business climate and the impact on our farmer and grower businesses, we will have some of the most influential voices on hand to share thoughts and answer your questions.
NFU director of policy Martin Haworth said: “The NFU’s annual conference is one of the most important events in the agricultural industry calendar, so it was imperative to secure an impressive venue that could accommodate our many high profile speakers as well as our members, who travel from across England and Wales.
“The ICC boasts a wealth of experience in hosting events such as this, and along with its state of the art facilities and central location, made it the stand out location above the other venues we considered for our 2012 conference.”
Those unable to attend will still be able to get involved. A live web-stream from the Conference will be available on www.NFUOnline.com to keep you up to date with all the action as it happens.
And anyone with a Twitter account will be able to tweet throughout the event, whether you are in attendance or not, by using #NFU12 in your message.
