British farmers proud to produce great British food from great British farms

British farmers are proud to produce great British food from great British farms! That is the clear message the NFU is sending out to consumers about the quality and traceability of food coming from British farms.

In the wake of the contaminated meat products found in some imported frozen food, the NFU is encouraging people to buy British.
NFU President Peter Kendall said: “British farmers are very proud of what they produce and are, quite rightly, furious about this current situation.
“The NFU is telling the public that they can buy British in confidence. Look for the Red Tractor logo, as products bearing it have been independently inspected to accredited standards, are traceable from farm to pack.
“Consumers should have the confidence that the products they buy are what they say they are. Our message to them is that British farms produce high quality produce and we want the public to continue to show them support.”
An advertising campaign launched by the NFU also emphasised that the UK’s meat industry is highly regulated and British farmers work to some of the most stringent standards in the world.
The adverts encourage people to buy British, and endorse the NFU campaign Farming Delivers for Britain - the message for which is simple,

Using the twitter hashtag #buybritish the NFU will also be championing British produce on social media and encouraging consumers to show their support and buy the high quality food produced on British farms.
Support British farmers and ensure you buy British.
