Why Farming Matters at the Horse of the Year Show

22 October 2009

NFU told the 60,000 visitors to Horse of the Year Show, why farming matters more than ever.

The NFU's Countryside brand sponsored the Pony Club Mounted Games at the show, which took place at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre from the 7th to 11th of October.

NFU Director of Communications Liz Falkingham said HOYS, which received more than 45 hours of coverage on Sky Sports, was the ideal showcase to highlight all that was great about British farming as well as promoting the NFU's Countryside brand.

"Our members often say that we need to do more to reach out to a non-farming audience and make them aware of the fantastic work farmers do in terms of food production, the environment and the economy, and this event gives us a great platform to do that."
